R.I.P., Ted. You will be missed.
When we ask about where new drivers are going to find seats, I think of how many future greats started at teams like Tolman, Hesketh, Minardi and the like. F1 was also much more fun with the garagistes in the mix.

Now that's one more piece of the driver market sorted, since Fernando is staying for new era cars one more team off the list for Sainz - or is it? Anyone think Papa Stroll might replace his own son with another Spaniard? https://f1i.com/news/505070-alonso-extends-aston-martin-contract-until-2026.html

They did state that the rules currently do not apply to them they were referencing the budget cap which means they can spend what they like to get up to speed with machinery and design.

I love the strategy: embarrass F1 into making them accept Andretti
Next step should be running tests at F1 tracks with their car to show they're competitive.
Of course, things get complicated, since they've been accepted by FIA, are there rules they need to follow even though they're not part of Formula One?

I have nothing against South Koreans. I'm dragging on Liberty, who do put the party before the race. It's bringing in new fans, but in a couple years they will move on to something else and the rest of us will be stuck with a bunch of bad races at subpar, temporary circuits.

Looks like the Andrettis aren't taking no for an answer. Andretti Global has opened its F1 facility at Silverstone. It will work with the principal Andretti site in Indianapolis and the team's Formula E facility in Banbury. https://www.autoweek.com/racing/formula-1/a60455576/andretti-global-opens-f1-facility-silverstone/

I am glad to see Korea rejoin F1. They've got a genuine car culture and a strong international automotive industry, which should be the building blocks of F1.
And right or wrong, they certainly understand that if you want in, you need to provide a party first and a race second. I'd rather see a dedicated race track, just like everyone else here, but can't hate on the Koreans for playing the game.
Hopefully it is a situation like Saudi Arabia: the street circuit exists as a bridge to a race at a real track. (Hopefully that still happens. Though I'd still prefer not racing in Saudi Arabia at all, no matter how good Qiddiya turns out to be.)

R.I.P. Ted, you put your money on the line and brought us good cheer & racing with your underdog Toleman F1 team in the 1980s. You helped launch quite a few drivers into F1 and I'm sure they all salute you as do I. https://racingnews365.com/owner-of-historic-f1-team-passes-away
