Title: New Caterham 7
Post by: cosworth151 on September 21, 2013, 01:47:52 PM
Caterham is bringing out a new version of the classic Caterham (formerly Lotus) 7. The carbon-fiber AeroSeven uses a 2.0-liter Ford Duratec engine to sprint to 60 mph in less than 4 seconds. Output is rated at 237 hp at 8,500 rpm while max torque is 152 lb-ft at 6,300 rpm.

I like the looks of the new car, but I'm also glad that the classic version (widely known as the "Neil Version) of the 7 will continue. From the front, the AeroSeven does look a bit like a 7 being swallowed by a snake.

I like Neil's version better as well.  This one just doesn't seem to have the Caterham character.

Though the look is a bit odd specially the front, but I hope it retains its legacy being a fun, cub racing car to drive :)

Sad news on the Caterham front, well from my perspective anyway. I had to let her go to a new home. Insufficient funds and lack of garage (Dad's moving miles away ::)) forced the decision. I'm still having the counselling :'( :D

I in a 2013 Audi S4 Avant at the moment Neil and loving it! You know me, I'm just toying with the idea of chipping it up to 410bhp.  ;)

410 should be enough to scoot you along the Queen's Highway, Wiz. Nice choice of wagon, as always. Good one. :good:

Wow, sorry to hear you had to let her go Neil.  Now there are some of us who would suggest that you disassemble her and put her in your apartment, and if there isn't enough room for both, maybe YOU sleep outside  ;) ;)

Seriously, good to hear from you Neil, glad you're keeping well, and hope we will get together again sometime, maybe next time I make it to your neighbourhood.   :D :D

Still have the hotel.  Closed Jan-Feb, so you never know, I've been planning on getting a baptism present for the Royal Baby.  Maybe I'll find time to deliver it in person  ;) ;)
