Everyone back to V10's quick!
« on: March 10, 2006, 10:44:59 AM »
There is a lot of talk in the paddock about how fast Scuderia Toro Rosso may be with their rev-limited V10 engine. So much so that there is a hot rumour that several of the top teams including McLaren have the option to quickly revert from a V8 engine to a V10 engine if need be.

If STR prove to be quick in Bahrain, the FIA may move swiftly to impose even greater rev restrictions on competitors using V10 engines. This would ensure the V8 formula progresses according to plan.

I hope the rev limiting will be just right, it would be a shame for teams to start chopping and changing engines it will all become very messy let alone confusing.  ???

Get ready to be confused, after the pace they had this weekend i think more than one outfit will be giving it serious consideration, especially as you would think arev limited v10 with seveal years development has to be more reliable than a straight out of the box v8 screaming away to its hearts content.

indeed there are rumours that more than one of the manufacturers are considering it....why would ferrari and mclaren still test their v10's right up until the first race eh? i have my suspicions!

They should now ban the V10's after all Red Bull can clearly afford to put V8's in instead.
