Ricciardo to leave McLaren
« on: August 24, 2022, 04:49:27 PM »
So it’s confirmed DR to leave McLaren at the end of this season.
But where will he go?
The options are Alpine, Alpha, Hass or Williams.
I think he might struggle to get a seat given his recent performance.
What’s your choice?

Guess they all elected to get this obvious news out of the way before the circus opens for business at Spa. Would have been the question that every media outlet put front and centre so full marks for getting ahead of it.

Most obvious match for Daniel will have to wait on Alpine's response to the Piastri defection and that could take a few months - will he want to wait that long?  :DntKnw:

I'm going for Haas on a one year deal to see how it pans out for both, 2024 may have more opportunities for Danny Ric.

Who wouldn't be at Haas next year? Mick

I'm not sure where I would put my money?
YT seems settled at Alpha.
ZG was being praised by the team.
NL is the most likely candidate to get the heave ho.
It still leave Alpine a driver short so selecting DR they could save a lot of money on court fees and DR might come cheap?

I read this on PlanetF1

ESPN reported this week that Guenther Steiner rang Ricciardo ahead of the Hungarian Grand Prix and sounded him out over potentially taking Mick Schumacher’s seat after the German’s contract ends in November. It is unknown just how receptive Ricciardo was to this approach but there are certainly some positives.

That's interesting Dare as I've read somewhere that a year at Haas might be best option for Danny Ric to find out if he can match, or hopefully better KMag. Such a result could open other possibilities for 24.

On the reverse side if Danny Ric is still struggling against team mate & car at Haas it's time to hang up his shueys, well in F1 at least.

Danny did well in his stint at Renault before they rebranded as Alpine. They might see him as a safe bet.
