Leaked documents appear to show Porsche buying a 50% interest in Red Bull Racing.

I wonder if Audi will take 50% of Alpha Tauri so that they're both in the sport 'competing' on the same side.

So far, the rumor is Audi will buy Alfa Romeo/Sauber.

A little further research (okay, watching YouTube), Porsche is buying into Red Bull Advanced Technologies, not the team itself.  RBAT is a subsidiary of the team, that supplies both Red Bull Racing, and Alpha Tauri.  It looks like, legally, Red Bull Powertrains is separate from RBR/RBAT, though I suspect that at the end of the day Porsche will be involved with RBPT and RBAT, continuing to supply RBR and STR.  It is a closer relationship than Honda had with RBR, but still not a complete tie up, like say BMW Sauber was.  Maybe more in line with McLaren-Mercedes?  (I'm not sure how that relationship worked)

Reckon you're right Jeri, reading through racefans supposed scoop it's notable it only refers to RBT which is not the actual racing team.

It seems wrong that Mateschitz, having pumped amazing amounts into both racing teams over years would settle for equal shares, i.e. 50/50.  :nono:   60/40 might be plausable, but again probably unlikely.

I'm also trying to get my head around the Morrocan conection in all this, unless RBT is incorporated in Morroco for tax reasons.  :confused: :DntKnw:

I found this paragraph in the comments section of a F1 fan site, seems to sum up what's happening.

"It's Porsche AG creating a joint-venture with the main Red Bull GmbH holding company for making engines (so apparently separate from the current Red Bull Powertrains Ltd) and also buying a 50% stake in the chassis manufacturer Red Bull Technology Ltd.
This, at least for now, does not involve the F1 team itself which is a separate company named Red Bull Racing Ltd."

Also makes sense since Honda will have fears of Porsche having access to thier IP on current engines. keeping Red Bull Powertrains out of any buy in must be the re-assurance Honda requires.
