Title: Just how much has each F1 driver racked up in crash repair costs in 21?
Post by: John S on December 21, 2021, 02:31:52 PM
Well according to Sky Sports Germany, who've done the calculations, the top 8 have each managed to mount up over £2mil each in repairs and the suprising No 1 notched up over £3.5mil.  :swoon:

I wonder how they calculate 'cost'?

If it's by hours worked... the RBR mechanics are magic and can fix an unfixable car in an absurdly short period of time.

I wonder how the cost of a nose, engine cover, whatever made in-house by Ferrari compare to the equivalent Haas part that is farmed out to Dallara.

Estimated cost of producing replacements. Note that the cost of a whole F1 car's dropped from $750,000 to about $650,000 over the last 15 years, but that cost reduction has been very uneven.
