A politician thought

All politicians should serve only two terms, one term in office and one term in jail

I'm all for the terms politicians serve be limited. If they can't
steal enough in say 2 terms they shouldn't have been elected to start with

Americans wonder where all the money goes, then they have billion dollar elections for politicians who can only work for 8 years and then collect life long pensions...

Can you wonder why they are so corrupt?  They have to gather enough favors and friends in 2 short terms that other politicians take a lifetime to accumulate so they can retire to corporate boards.

Unless I'm mistaken it's only the president that can only serve 2 terms, most of them senators seem to go on forever.

Are Governors restricted to 2 terms?  :DntKnw:

In Britain seems everyone can go on for as long as they want - rather than as long as we want.  ;)

Which in some seats seems as long as they want.  Bung them in a safe seat and they're set for life!

Only the President can serve 2 terms. Franklin Roosevelt was elected
to 4 and then a new law was enacted limiting it to 2.

Senators and Representatives can keep being re elected until they
figure they better quit before their caught

They also don't have the same health insurance the citizens are
stuck with,it's not good enough for them. Like Scott said they receive
outrageous pensions for the time they served.

Supreme Court Judges are appointed for life....even if they lose the
use of their brains whichmany didn't have to start with

Governors are decided state by state. Here in Ohio, a governor can only serve 2 consecutive terms. We did have one who served 2 terms, sat out one and then served 2 more.

Here in Lancaster, we elected a mayor in November of last year. His wife was indited for embezzlement the day after the election. (He was a Republican and a Republican judge sat on the indictment until after the election). The new mayor himself didn't get caught until shortly after he took office in January.

You've probably seen the bumper sticker:

My constituency and the one next door are both safe seats for their MPs. There are days when they seem to be the only decent MPs in Westminster. Ironically, the "next-door-constituency" one would probably be keen for a term limit - especially if there was a requirement to follow those terms with toiling in a job of the sort done by the majority of their constituents afterwards rather than the usual post-elected-term career of book tours, well-funded consultancies and generally perpetuating the corporate domination of politics.

Or how about: all constituencies to be represented by two people. Each one spends 6 months being a politician and 6 in a minimum-wage or near-minimum wage job?

I like it! I always said everyone running for office here should spend 2 or 3 months living in public housing, with only welfare/unemployment and food stamps to get by on. They have it way too easy. Once you're elected you get your salary for the rest of your life! You get free medical and dental care for the rest of your life! That's why they don't give a damn about Social Security or Medicare.

They also don't mind voting themselves pay raises while people on
SS haven't really got one foe years.
