100 mph Prius Chase
« on: July 10, 2007, 05:40:00 AM »
This sounds like a joke, but it isn't.

Al Gore the third was arrested this past week driving a blue Toyota Prius about 100 mph on the San Diego Freeway. He was pulled over at about 2:15 a.m. Prescription drugs and a small amount of marijuana were found in the car. He was being held on $20,000 bail. Gore lives in Los Angeles and is an associate publisher of GOOD, a magazine about philanthropy aimed at young people.

Brian Unger, the in-house humorist on National Public Radio's "Day by Day" had this to say about it.

We can only hope that Max and Bernie never hear this!

One problem in America is two sets of punishments
for crimes, one for the American population and
one for celebrities.

Most movie stars and so called sports heroes
think their above the law,and unfortually they are
Mark Twain once opined, "it's easier to con someone than to convince them they've been conned."

In a cockney accent:

It's the same the whole world over
It's the poor what gets the blame
It's the rich what gets the money
Isn't it a bleedin' shame...

Same in UK, the other day a government minister, Charles Kennedy, was smoking on a train (banned for a long time)the conductor/guard told him several times to put it out, he refused, the police were waiting for the train, all he got was a telling off. If it had been a member of the general public it would have been a hefty fine, justice, ha, don't make me laugh !
An aircraft landing is just a controlled crash.
