The Wheel of Misfortune
« on: October 20, 2007, 06:07:22 PM »
After all the penalties we've seen this year, I decided there must be a new device in the FIA offices this year:

The FIA Wheel of Misfortune

need a piece of the pie to say
get sacked by your team

You will need to come up with another device for people who fail to spin the wheel in compliance with the FIA's 1000 page wheel spinning procedure.

That's why the wheel-spinning is always done by an FIA official completely conversant with the 1000-page wheel-spinning procedure, Steven ;) (the guy on the right is supposed to be Max Mosely, though it's not the world's best likeness).

dare, I suppose after qualifying, we also need a piece of the pie to say "extra-aggravating journalist" to explain Lewis' punishment for blocking Raikkonen!

Ferrari complained to the race director about Lewis "blocking" Raikkonen and impeding him.  This is despite Lewis staying inside the blend line which is way off the line and Kimi doing his fastest sector time of the day on that lap.  Surprisingly despite these trivial facts the FIA decided not to impose a penalty.

The second link relates to a French journalist who took such exception to Lewis's move that she spent most of the press conference berating him for it.  The lady in question is married to Denis Chevrier of Renault who clearly have no interest in whether Lewis is penalised or whether such a penalty would result in Fernando delivering the number 1 plate to Renault.

I read the bit from Anne whatever her name is.

What a pitiful bitch. She would be doing a far better job for her employers, and for us her readers - she does call herself a journalist doesn't she - had she asked questions related to the race, the drivers, the cars etc.

Instead she just tried her hardest to insult Lewis Hamilton. Shameful bitch.

No kidding, did she EVER have a chip on her shoulder!  That was pathetic, and I'd be surprised if she didn't pay for that somehow - depending on whether her paper is a rag or respectible...not sure about papers in France.

L'Equipe(The team or just team- French grammar is odd) is a daily newspaper that deals only in sport and is very good.  They are naturally pro-any French national team like Renault but I have always found it to be fair in its coverage.  I did a search for her on their website and can't find her name anywhere.

In view of the increasing number of cases the FIA has to see, a unanimous vote from the FIA Department of Misfortune has decided to install a second Wheel of Misfortune in the Place de la Concorde. It will be used in conjunction with the original Wheel of Misfortune and will be ready in time for Thursday's fuel appeal.
