Title: Lap time keeping; a painstaking black art before computers & transponders
Post by: John S on May 27, 2021, 03:15:37 PM
I'm frankly amazed at how one woman could track so many cars lap times at a race track with one stopwatch, - Oh and go 24hrs without a bathroom break.  :swoon:

I tip my hat to you Judy.  :good:

How times and processes have changed.

That is absolutely amazing! I remember working a mechanical stop watch tracking lap times on just one car & having my hands full.

It also makes me realize what a marvel the modern timing & scoring screen is.

For you young folk who have never seen on, a mechanical stop watch is that strange looking device they show at the beginning of the 60 Minutes TV show.  ;)
