I'm sorry if i've upset people by talking Moto Gp.

The greatest thing about this site has been the fact that we have always been able to talk freely. We constantly go off topic and nobody seems to mind. On the contrary everybody joins in. We can be talking about the bore and stroke of a Cosworth DFV one moment and move to the latest pit babe on our left the next. That's what it's all about. However if other users, and the admin wish me to remove the references to Moto Gp I will gladly do so.

I'm too old to be arguing about such trivialities.

your post was fine John, that's what makes it fun, getting
off topic and eventually returning to the original topic :good:

I was glad to see the MotoGP topic started as it's something my son is into and I need to know more about it.  But the Stig has a point - it would be better if we could keep the F1 boards just for F1 since this is a site primarily dedicated to F1.  I also know how difficult it was for John to decide where to put his post, however.  There was one that I posted that didn't seem to fit anywhere so I posted it in the F1 area (can't remember which particular board).

Perhaps we should establish a convention of using the off topic boards more often - they are there for this express purpose, after all.  We tend to think they won't be noticed way down there but most people either use the Latest Posts facility or run down the right hand column looking for posts added Today.  Everything gets noticed that way and there remains at least some order in the layout.

Maybe the wiz could give us another topic under everything else
called other forms of racing where we could post MotoGP,Indy Car,etc

I really had no idea my mention of Moto GP was going to cause so much "Rumpus".
 :-[
The only reason I put it where I did was simply that I could not think of an appropriate alternative place at the time. In fact I started off my post by saying so. Here's a copy and paste of my first para.

Not quite sure where to put moto GP subjects, so have opened a thread here.

I realise that a number of us here follow Moto GP, just as there are many that follow the numerous other disciplines of motorsport and motorcycle sport, so perhaps Dare's suggestion that "The WIZ" introduces another section for different disciplines isn't such a bad idea after all. Two brownie points for that, Dare! ;)

Sorry if I've upset Stig, and anybody else for that matter, but let me close by answering one of his comments. He wrote to the effect that he would have to find another F1 Forum.

I think he'll have great difficulty finding one that's even half as good as this one. I'm sure most of you will agree. :good:

Good idea for the "Other Sports" section, wiz! :good:

Now there's a place for all of you folk from across the pond to talk about soccer, I mean, football. :P

We've had some fun threads here in the past about movies, records, Dr. Who........

Please remember, most of us are at an age where our minds start to drift.

Besides, MotoGP is all we have left here in the US.
