Formula 1 has renewed its deal with Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, in a move that will keep the Spanish Grand Prix at the track until 2026. Nowhre near the best circuit of the season but better than many of the current schedule. All in all, I'm happy to see it stay.

Lewis, great start to finish win lapping half of the field. Can't ask for more.

Max, did a great job keeping up with Lewis.

Alonso, first Podium in like forever. I do hope he is able to win again in the future.

Horner, for being himself and criticising everyone but his team.

Mercedes for ruining Bottas' race. There was simply no obvious reason for keeping him out that long.

Bottas for yet another terrible start, although he did a good recovery until his own team got in the way.

Tires, or perhaps teams running too long to maintain track position.

For the next race I hope Lewis can end up a point ahead of Max going into the final race. Otherwise I fear Max will simply run him off the road...

Ferrari has discovered LeClerc's chassis is cracked. They will change it overnite. Is this enough to explain his lack of pace compared to Sainz? Speaking of Sainz, he, Max and Bottas are all being investigated for failure to slow for yellow flags at the end of Q3. Max in in more trouble as he faces being under double yellow flags while Sainz and Bottas were only under single yellow flags.

Controversy is still building over Max's efforts to keep Lewis behind him last week.
Max says it's just hard racing and Lewis would have done the same.
Russell says Max's move was deliberate and deserved a penalty.
Le Clerc says he and other drivers will change the way they race if there is no penalty fot Max.
Wolff says 'no more Mr. Nice Guy', FIA Obviously favors Red Bull.
Masi says 'No favoritism'
Sainz says (indirectly) Max gets away with stuff others are penalized for doing.
Lewis says I'm concentrating on Losail

Personally, I think Max has always been a very aggressive and sometimes dirty driver. I think the FIA did not penalize him because he was involved in the kind of close exciting battle they are desperate to have on TV. If Tsunoda had done that to Stroll (or vice versa) battling for 10th, there would have been a penalty. I truly believe if they don't rein in Max there will be a big serious accident in the future. And as Carlos said if Max gets away with forcing other drivers off the track, the other drivers will do it too.

The German website thinks so and suggests that the Mercedes car uses hydraulic shock absorbers to gain speed, both on the sides and on the third element in the middle of the car, in the transmission. The hydraulics work via small valves in the dampers that let the hydraulic oil through in different volume flows. If you manage to influence the opening and closing times of these valves, you can virtually pull the dampers down. This allows the whole car to be lowered, reducing drag on the straights and increasing top speeds.

In Formula 1, it is illegal to have this system automated. Active suspensions are not allowed. Therefore, to make it legal in Formula 1, the driver himself needs to make a command. If is right and Mercedes really does have this on the car, Hamilton will need to actively do something and this could be the forward and backwards movement on the steering wheel.
Footage of the steering wheel being possibly moved 'back n forth' during Quali in Brazil is highlighted in a video clip below titled 'Lewis using DAS System during Qualy Lap steering wheel moves'. So Are Merc able to manipulate the ride height this way????

Sir Lewis Hamilton.  My god, what a weekend put together by both driver and team.  A superior car with a superior driver absolutely destroying all comers.  Set the best time in qualifying, with a broken car.  Started dead last in the Sprint Qualifying, made 15 passes.  Started the race in 10th and carved through the field.  The pass for first was NOT inevitable either.  Having a fast car is great, but Max had position and the ability to defend.  Lewis poked and prodded and created that pass.  They could easily have crashed off, but Lewis was wary to Max's antics.

Absolutely stunning demonstration of what a champion looks like.

Bottas.  Under normal circumstances, the pole sitter finishing third doesn't sound all that heroic, but Bottas did his job for the team.

Norris.  Great recovery drive from an opening lap puncture.

Ferrari.  The best of the midfield.  Solid racing from both drivers, and great development from the team.

Max.  Joking about fines meaning he can't pay to win video games.  Dismissing a warning flag with sarcasm.  Trying to run Hamilton off the road.

Massi/Horner.  Look, whether Max TRIED to run Lewis off the road or not, he retained position by going off track.  Last time I checked, that's a penalty.  Allowing this behaviour means Max is going to do it again, and again.  If Lewis hadn't expected that move from Max, it would have been a third crash between the contenders.
