Kubica, made a stunning start to vault into third place and clung on throughout the race at Monza, just his third as a Formula One driver.
The 21-year-old looked to have missed out on the podium when world champion Fernando Alonso sneaked past in the pits late on. But the Renault driver's engine failure handed Kubica third place on a plate, much to the Pole's shock.
"I am really surprised to finish third," he said after scoring what was BMW-Sauber's second podium in their debut season.
An outstanding drive by Kubica, lets hope it's the first of many. :good:
