Title: Kubica to stay for 2007
Post by: Wizzo on October 20, 2006, 07:42:19 AM

Impressive rookie Robert Kubica will remain a BMW-Sauber race driver in 2007, the German team announced ahead of Sunday's F1 finale in Brazil.

A statement added that Nick Heidfeld will still be his teammate when the circus reconvenes in Melbourne next March, while current 'Friday' driver Sebastian Vettel moves into the regular 'test and reserve' role for 2007.

"Nick was already a firm fixture for 2007," said team boss Mario Theissen.

Poland's 21-year-old Kubica commented: "For me to be confirmed proves that in the last five races I have done the job expected of me."
