Grosjean Comfirmed at Lotus for 2013

It's been a good week-end for Romain Grosjean. He won the Race of Champions and now he's been resigned at Lotus for next season. According to AutoWeek, the team clearly spent some time weighing up the pros and cons, and ultimately has kept faith with him.

The Frenchman had quite an up-and-down season in 2012. I know he was frequently the center of attention in the Chat Room during the races. I'm glad he's getting another shot at it.

How much of a influence was from Total about signing this Frenchman?

This is good news. Not the most auspicious start to an F1 career but I'm convinced he's got a lot more to offer. He's had a lot to deal with – some brought on by himself but not all, I think he's handled it very well. Up against Kimi again will make it hard for him to shine, but all he has to do is stay out of trouble and Lotus are a serious force in F1. Easy eh?

I'm glad.  I think he's got plenty more to offer.  Just needs to offer it after the first corner.

It can be hard to find a balance between caution and aggression. Lots of people thought Keselowski was too aggressive and didn't belong in NASCAR, now he's a champion. Controlled Aggression may be hard to learn but if Grosjean can learn it he could be very successful.

I'm glad that he has been retained.  Hopefully, he'll continue to liven up the odd race here and there with first corner accidents.  Goodness knows we need his help to stop all the cars finishing every single race all the time.
