Lotus uncertainty or chance to impress Ferrari, who knows?

A senior source close to Grosjean confirmed to F1i.com in Singapore on Sunday that the Frenchman would join Haas next season.

Renault Sport F1 managing director Cyril Abiteboul admitted to Canal+ on its show 'The Grid' that it was a shame Renault had not factored retaining Grosjean in to its takeover negotiations at Lotus.

Grosjean is set to partner Esteban Gutierrez at Haas, with Ferrari placing its test and reserve driver in the team as part of its close technical partnership.

A good choice, he will bring a lot to the team and is Renaults loss.

This potential move worries me. I know Lotus is in trouble, but I think Haas will be in a weaker position than it in 2016... ...unless of course Lotus collapses into the sea (which I hope it doesn't). If it does, then going to Haas now is an act of genius given the rather static 2015 environment.

Other reports are suggesting Grosjean may not have had a choice, seems he's upset someone in the Renault camp.

Probably safer to stay where he is then, he'll be amn open target in another team.

It sounds like Ferrari might put Esteban Gutierrez in the 2nd car.

I wonder if Haas has learned a lesson from Aguri Suzuki. When Super Aguri gave Honda's factory team a run for it using hand-me-down, year old equipment, Honda yanked the rug out from under them. I doubt that Haas cars will be allowed to get anywhere near a Ferrari.

I do believe there's reciprocal arrangements here. It would be a problem if all the Haas tooling at Maranello stopped getting service calls...

58 percent of 22,000 French voters in a poll by the mag L'Equipe think that Grosjean is making a mistake going to Haas.
