Webber's First Win
« on: July 13, 2009, 01:29:32 PM »
Mark Webber got his first pole and first win this week-end at the Nurburgring. At the end of the race, we could here Rom screaming all the way from Oz.  ;)

A few Fun Facts:

Mark set F1 records for

Most races before a pole: 130

Most races before a win: 130

The last Aussie on pole: Alan Jones, German GP at Hockenheim, 1980.

Last Aussie win: Alan Jones, USGP West at Las Vegas (that awful mess run in a car park), 1981

Well lets hope Mark can go the whole way and eventually recreate Alan Jones other feats. :good:

Great to see Mark "break his duck" at last.

Great to see Mark "break his duck" at last.

yeah Willy, he broke his duck as for the very first time in eight years he is driving a car that can win

I do think many people will be rating mark much higher now and team mate SV will be getting a little nervous methinks

I admire MW for the manly character and class he shows and consider him a serious WDC contender this year

go Aussie go!

Hopefully Webber doesn't have to break the "Last Aussie to win in a semi-molten car park" record.

Good luck to Mark on getting everything else - even a 2009 title is still possible, at least in theory...
