G'day Everyone :D
We flew into Melbourne this morning (Thursday morning Aus time) with the rain gently falling. Dropped the bags off and went straight to the track for our pit lane walk. Here are a half a dozen piccies. Some more may follow on the next few nights depending on how much beer I drink each day, other than that I will post up next week. For the sake of a good race I hope it rains, for the sake of me sitting in the Brabham Grand Stand I hope it doesn't. Also for the grid game players the lady at the supermarket, who has lived in St. Kilda all of her life, said it will be a wet race. However, I take no responsibility for anyones rain pick ;)

It's F1 Season!!!!!!! :yahoo:
I've got BBC feed up.
-
The tires are giving up. At the end of his first run Vettel was missing a 1" X 2" piece of his left front. Massa had a right front fail, whether it gave out and caused him to lock up, or locked up causing it to blow I'm not quite sure. maybe the drivers are right and Pirelli wrong. Button and Hamilton looking very competitive.

How do you get on those walks?

With a 3 day grandstand ticket WF.
-
USGP Indy used to do the same thing with a race day ticket. They had free autograph sessions with every driver as part of it. Speed's F1 crew did interviews with F1 celebs in the Pagoda Plaza all day.

Here are half a dozen pictures of the first two practices sessions. I even got one of Luizzi in the HRT for his one and only lap. I don't know how it is on TV but the Sauber and Williams look very similar on the track from where I'm sitting. And what about Webber topping the time sheets, hopefully he will be there on Sunday as well. Oh, and the pit walk was part of the Grand Stand ticket, but I think you had to buy your ticket before about October to get it, well worth it though.
-
Here's Liuzzi.
Also Ferrari were using the aero dynamic dye on Massa's rear wing, the track commentators said after he done a few laps photos were taken of the dye pattern and sent back to the factory for analysis, they seem to be taking this racing stuff seriously.
-
Razer thin nose on the Merc, eh? Fantastic pics aazz - have you bumped into Cam yet?
-
Good pix! :good:
Hang onto that HRT pix. It could be a rarity.
-
That HRT car looks so dated I'm suprised not to see Bridgestone tyres on it. :D :DD
Good pics aazz, :good: the McLaren sure looks different to the rest with those sidepods.

You said it Cos!

That's the way I feel about my Midland & Spyker pix.
-
Something a bit different today. I managed to get a good spot where the drivers enter the track of a morning, I only got half a dozen shots before being asked to move on. Here they are.
-
The rest. Heres hoping Webber is on the top step tomorrow. See ya after the race :yahoo:
-
Nice pics again aazz - great access they have in Melbourne...in Monza you're lucky to see any of those guys through smoked glass as they whiz past on the way to the paddock.
-
Just a few photos from the track today. The weekend was pretty good and Sunday turned out to be the best day weather wise. The only disappointing part of it was Webber's fifth place, it's a shame he wasn't on the podium but I think he just wasn't quick enough. Did anyone pick Petrov in the grid game for a podium?
-
Two more.

Hoo hoo WF, pit walk at Monza were'nt bad. :tease:

How do you get on those walks?
I am pretty sure I never used to get that at Silverstone which is annoying since I used to go and sit pretty much on top of the start/finish line.

Great pics there aazz!
