Title: Symonds: it wasn't me...

Really humble quotes from Symonds on being the architect of the Williams turnaround last year.  I hope they keep it up!

It was a great effort on the part of all concerned. I suspect that Symonds is being more than a bit modest about his roll. Whatever the source, I hope they can continue to build on it this season.

I would have said that it was a turn around had they made the progress with the Renault engine. Unless he was the decision maker for the switch to Mercedes, I don't think he is being modest, I think he is just panning out the facts.

Claire credits much of the change to him.  What he said in the article was that they already had good people, but in the wrong place or in the wrong structure.  He fixed that.  Of course the Merc gave them a huge change, but they weren't the only other Merc team on the grid and they had an aero package that even Merc was carefully admiring.
