No one seems to be talking about how Alpine started the season so embarrassingly bad that they shuffled their team personnel, and yet they've achieved two points finishes that were on merit, not just luck.

They're not challenging for the championship, but I feel like they're on a trajectory for solid midfield results.

Maybe becoming a strong 'midfield' team isn't as exciting as McLaren and Ferrari threatening to win on a regular basis.  And maybe personnel shuffles and intra team conflict are more exciting stories, but I think Alpine deserves credit for making some of the most impressive growth I've seen in an F1 team in the cap era!

I really hope they can keep it up: the Enstone team has a long history of being overperforming underdogs, and I would love to see that again.

The site I was using for race results originally showed
Bottas as fast lap when I changed it to Lewis it seems
to have messed up all the scores. I'll have it fixed soon

Ferrari strategy did not pooch his race as has been the case in the past.

I am a tad confused by why Sainz was allowed to retake 3rd on the restart when he went off on the 1st lap before the red flag. The off happened during a race lap not a safety car so he should have been back in 16th or thereabouts.

Monaco has always been a rather boring procession but it has such history that it is still a must watch race.

The 1st lap red flag allowed everyone to do a tire change so the entire race was a no stop event after that.  So the pit stop strategy was not a factor in this race.

I have not heard at this point, but imagine Magnusson will be getting a race ban now after causing the red flag event.

New ground effect floors too powerful for mudguards to make any useful difference.

Mario Andretti says Liberty Media CEO Greg Maffei informed him that he will “do everything in my power” to ensure Andretti is never granted a Formula 1 entry. This took place at the Miami weekend.

“I was asked to go there,” said Mario to NBC News. “And just as I was trying to explain that to [Formula 1 CEO] Stefano [Domenicali], Greg Maffei, Mr. Maffei, broke in the conversation and he said: 'Mario, I want to tell you that I will do everything in my power to see that Michael never enters Formula 1.

“I could not believe that. That one really floored me. We’re talking about business. I didn’t know it was something so personal. That was really, oh, my goodness. I could not believe it. It was just like a bullet through my heart.”

Maffei is denying it. Yeah, right. It's really time to get Liberty out of F1.
