This video has made me very very unhappy, nearly brought me to tears, I don't even know if I can go on. :'(
Why, Oh why can I not have one of these cars. No bloody money that's why!!
This has to be top of the dream garage list as of today. Simply Awesome.

Does it only come in Red David?

Why would you want it any other colour. :DntKnw:
You can't say you don't like this car Mark. ::)

brilliant car, but would I spoil your 300k British pounds purchase if I turn up in my McLAREN MP4 12C at circa 175k British ponds and still kick your ass?
sure, you would look better in this simply stunning pininfarina styled car but would that compensate being easily outdriven - on the track that is - by the cheaper mid-engined and far lighter [by over 300 kgs!] McLAREN?
......oh to be able to be in that quandary!
btw, the new FERRARI does not sound anywhere near as good to my ears as an old 355 - has something to do with the new 'flat' crankshafts I believe.

Black and as a convertible would be nice. ;) ;)

yukk, each to their own but I just deplore cars in black, especially those with black interiors too
...not only a devil to keep clean but I don't want to be mistaken for a retired Mafia Don....
....and in this country, Australia, I don't like having my hands burnt on black steering wheels.......
-
wa-wa-wa...I still like black....all my cars in my life have been black except for a horrible Peugeot minivan that I traded in after 2 years.
-
I'm with SennaMan on this one Scott, I never owned or wanted a black car they are much to hard to keep clean. I once got landed with a dark navy blue company car and that was a nightmare for showing dust and small amounts of dirt, in fact these dark colours are much worse than white cars; I've had 3 white cars.
I wonder if Ferrari will do it in McLaren Orange as a special order? ;) :D

Oh Sennaman, how I wish I could get the chance to prove you wrong. I suppose you do as well as you would get your dream car too.
I'll make you a deal. If I am ever in the position to purchase both cars (not likely, but I can dream) I will fly you to the UK, hire Silverstone and we can have a day of fun, Ferrari v McLaren. :yahoo:

Claw_grrrl has always insisted on black. It's her favorite color. When we restored her 67 Grand Prix, it made doing the bodywork a real pain. That black shows ANY little flaw! :swoon:

OMG what a sweet car Cos. 8)

Wow - you guys did a fantastic job. What a beaut!! :good: :good: :good:

This is how it looked when we found it. It was in a scrap yard near my home, about to be crushed.
-
very nice, but I'll have a DBS instead......in black... :D

yeah Cossie, the one advantage of black is that it does show up shoddy panel/paint work and in so doing sorts the 'men from the boys'.
btw, tremendous work in rescuing the Grand Prix from the crusher...pity ya lady does not have more sense of colour though! :tease: :P

what a marvellously generous idea David - cheaper to rent - and it would be fun too but I am afraid you would come a very distant second.
however, we could swap cars and the McLaren would still be the faster track car
the reason I can confidently say this is:
(a)
the 599 GTO weighs in at a very portly 1605kg whereas the McLaren weighs 1300 kgs. That is the equivalent of having four people weighing an average of 76.25 kgs each in your car plus you as the driver. The extra weight is a lap time track/tyre killer especially in the twisty bits.
[Just for this argument I am assuming you and I weigh say 80-85 kgs.]
(b)
unladen power to weight ratio of the Ferrari is 0.42 BHP/Kg whereas the McLaren is significanly almost 10% higher at 0.46 BHP/Kg [btw McLaren has 158 BHP/Litre - Ferrari 112 BHP/litre]
and I will never drive a black car let alone own one!

sacrilege you Philistine!
fortunately most owners choose colours that suit the character of the car!!!
