Title: Worlds most expensive MP3 player
Post by: Wizzo on April 04, 2006, 12:48:18 PM
Take a long look at it, folks: the world’s most expensive MP3 player. Built by little known German manufacturer TrekStor on commission from Russian-Canadian billionaire Alex Schnaider, it’s based on the company’s existing i.Beat organix model (no, we hadn’t heard of it either).

TrekStor hired Mannheim’s Wenthe jewellers to plate it in 18 carat gold and glue on 63 diamonds, transforming it – according to the website (http://www.trekstor.de/en/products/detail_mp3.php?pid=46&page=0) – from a simple MP3 player into “an exquisite piece of jewellery”. Yeah, whatever. ::)

TrekStor insists that it’s the most expensive player ever built, despite having a paltry 1GB of flash memory. How much did it cost Mr Schnaider? Sadly, the company is not willing to reveal the details at present, so the only way you’re going to find out is to give them an email and ask for one yourself.

I think I saw something similar by Elizabeth Duke in the Argos catalogue  :DD
