Title: Slashing hybrid costs with WEC & IMSA spec LMDh cars attracting bigger field
Post by: John S on December 20, 2020, 04:42:36 PM
Hybrid/gearbox system from Bosch/Williams/Xtrack 300k.
Chassis from Dallara, Oreca, Ligier or Multimatic 345k.
Plus your own bodywork brings it to about a 1 million for an LMP equivalent car, for use in both Le Mans and Daytona series, without a standard internal combustion engine.

Own designed ICE costs need to be added, but independents will be able to source engines from OEMs as well.

No wonder Porsche and plenty of others are chomping at the bit.
