A little long but a good read. Greed in F1

I'm sure Honda are not alone in putting drivers out in unsafe cars, there are far too many deaths between 1950 & the 80s to believe otherwise. Back then drivers were seen as an expendable commodity - rather like last year's car.

Can't see Old man Ferrari or Colin Chapman giving in to any driver who refused to drive one of their cars either.

This story says more about Big John's total understanding of the engineering and mechanical side of the sport, oh and his proper sense of his own mortality. JYS took a similar view when confronted with unsafe situations.

Good read though Dare, thanks for sharing.  :good:

Absolutely horrifying, not just Honda either, but whoever was organising F1 at the time to allow them to try again.

I'd say most of the cars were unsafe and Lotus  may
have played a part in Clark's death but the bigwigs
at Honda knew this was a deathtrap, big difference.
