Title: Odd statistic
Post by: RogerIrwin on September 06, 2020, 11:02:22 AM
I noticed that the top 10 cars in Qualy for the the Italian GP were all UK cars.

Would it be a first if all cars in the top 10 are from the UK?

Think you'll find the 10th place car of Gasly is built in Italy, Roger.

It's that pratt Ocon you have to thank for ruining a perfect 10, for my money he's one of those drivers who talks a better game than he can manage.  :D

Still a good stat of top 9 all Brit built chassis.  :good:

Yikes yes, I'm a programmer and I often make the mistake as reading 9th on the list as the 10th

Be interesting to see how the race finishes. Actually, I just noticed, the top 6 have British Chassis AND engines, If Renault flunk that could get higher....I'm sure that would be a record for an Italian GP  :D

Aren't all cars but 4 built in the UK?

No Dare, Alfa Romeo are the old Sauber team based in Switzerland and Haas uses a Dallara built chassis from Italy. So when you add Ferrari & Alpha Tauri you get 4 teams manufacturing outside the UK.

Just realised you meant 4 teams Dare.  You got me there.  :P

Any other year what's the odds of Ferrari not in the top
10? I bet the FIA comes up with something to help Ferrari engines
with the freeze

Yeah. It was a real shame to see Kimi drop down the order msinly because the Ferrari engine is junk.

Remember the FIA are commercial dependent on Liberty, and Liberty's day-to-day boss helped get Lewis Hamilton into Mercedes...

Thought their plan had already begun by banning party modes.  ;)  Wonder what's next????

Seems closing the pits is a far better strategy to slow at least one Merc.  :D
