The British government has approved the extradition of V J Mallya to India. Mallya has the right to appeal.

I don't think he could convince anyone he was born in the USA, given he didn't call his team "Force America" or anything like that ;)

There was a time, about a decade ago, when that looked vaguely plausible. However, the revocation of the Indian passport means he's permanently barred from Indian politicial office, as I understand it. Even if he's declared innocent of all charges, he can't regain his old seat in the Lok Sabha (the equivalent of being a House of Commons backbencher), let alone the Prime Ministerial role.
