Yeah he is the best. Although ITV are doing a good job its nothing compared to the good ol BBC with Murray at the helm. God those days were good.  :'(

To bring back even more memories try the download section for the old BBC F1 music. Coming soon some more Murray downloads, I'll keep you posted.  8)

ITV's OK but I can't forgive them for Imola 2005, every remote/mobile within my close range was thrown at the TV that day!  Also, it never fails to annoy about the adverts.  Today we were on an advert and rejoined the race with the sceen showing 50/56.  We then went for an advert when the screen was showing 48/56, TWO laps later.  I want to watch the race, not see adverts!!!

This is very true, however, beggers can't be choosers. ANY F1 coverage has got to be good, its ignored by just about every other media apart from the day before the Silverstone GP.

I can't stand it when there has been a truly top class race, the only one of its kind in the world that day, so you turn on the news and What does the so called sports news consist of?....during the match between Southend United and Skipton Town a pidgeon flew onto the pitch, much to everyones amusment! ARRGGHHHHHH
 >:D

Sorry I touched a nerve there.  ::)

I know, F1 is seriously ignored in this country.  Considering a lot of the F1 teams are based here, it gets treated badly.  It annoys me so much!

The last I heard Bernie E. was charging other TV networks £10,000 per second to show any highlights of F1. Not sure if this is still the case, if it is you can see why all the networks give it a wide berth.

It's true, only ITV can show the F1 as they hold some rights in the UK, that's why the BBC seem to be allergic to the sport.  By charging so much he is excluding the people who make the sport what it is - the fans.

You are sooo right. Bernie trys to keep F1 popular and then charges the earth for networks to show the highlights which would attract more viewers.   :fool:

At least he hasn't sold out to Sky, otherwise we would all be paying £5 per race  :swoon:

 :nono: Pleeeaaase do not even mention f1 going to sky. Itv is bad enough with their adverts, sky would kill it I think  :swoon:

Ahhh but would you pay for each race?

Do we love it so much that our desire to watch it would override our anger? I don't think I could hold out,  :fool:  Could you?

 ::) no your right, i'd have to pay it but i'd like to think every £ choked him a bit more. my mate's a football fanatic(sorry) supports leeds(even sorrier) but as he said, even if they went down to the conference league he'd still buy a season ticket. you can't argue with that can you  :yahoo:

I know, I love F1 too much, but Sky is bad and with the adverts that they have on Sky may just finish it.  I live in Scotland and the SPL is only shown on Setanta, and it has crippled the sport.  No-one watches it anymore, unless they go to the pub.  BUt the thing is, the kids, the people who should be getting into football or F1 can't do that.  That was the problem with A1, it was shown on Sky, so not very many people watched it.

Agreed, I like virtually any motor sport and thought A1 was a great idea. I haven't got Sky and I've never seen a single race or any coverage what so ever.

I don't think any sport should be monopolised by a particular station/broadcaster. Bernie has got some standards by stating that no one will ever pay to watch F1 while he's in charge. Then you have the other side of the coin where he charges TV stations so much for highlights of races, which means they don't buy it....so no one sees the highlights.....which means F1 gets lower viewing figures, mad  :fool:

Lets be thankful for small mercies (and hope Bernie isn't a member  ::))
