Merc are ready to introduce a development from F1's oft berated MGU-H element to their road cars.
A new slim electric motor integrated onto the charger shaft running at 17,000 RPM, will drive the compressor wheel before exhaust gas flow is accepted into the exhaust gas turbocharger.
This will help improve throttle input response times as well as decrease turbo lag in their road cars enabling them to reach higher torque levels at lower engine speeds.
Guess we'll have to wait and see how many actual car models receive the new gen turbo solutions, - but hey it's a start, right?
