Great post Neil. :good:
I am ashamed to admit that the thought of taking something like that to the limit now scares the pants off me. :swoon:
I guess I am just getting old, twenty years ago I would have wanted to try it out. :(
-
It looks like a real beast!
How soon will you be converting yours, Neil? ;)
-
I imagine that upgrade would be outside my budget cos :( . I think there's going to be some footage of my car going round Brands Hatch online soon. I'll put a link up when it comes online.

That is going to be a seriously quick car. I hope they let the Stig loose in it.

It was to do with a magazine test Cos, they was testing my 7 up against the brand new Duratec 7. Was a really good day. They've already done the front cover, it's on the bottom left here http://www.trcmagazine.com/home.html

That is just too cool! :yahoo:
-
Thanks Cos :D

That's great Neil. It looks like there are three of them in the picture. What was the other one? How did yours do against the new 7?
-
Thanks Scotty, The other car is a R500. My car and the brand new one are both R300's with different engines.
The two R300's did feel quite different. My one has got a full screen and leather seats, which I spec'd when I bought it. The new car has got an aeroscreen, tillet seats and a lowered floor so it felt like a bit more of a racer than mine.
The two engines are similar in performance. The Ford engine's pretty strong with loads of torque. The K-Series engine's a bit more of a screamer and likes to be revved.
I did write a little piece to put in the magazine, I'll put it up once they've edited it etc :D
Here's a picture of me on the right, with Mark the R500 owner :D

Honestly, I thought they were fireproof driving shoes. My Simpsons have a similar appearance, but are that stylish blue.

Yeah they are Sparco driving shoes Cos. Not SOCKS ::) Yeah I'll put the vids etc on here when they come online. Thanks for the interest.

I had a run as a passanger in a Westfield Megabussa a few years ago. It had a rev limted Supercharged 240bhp Suzuki Hayabussa motorbike engine, sequential gearbox and was less than 500kg. That's roughly 480bhp / metric ton. :o The run lasted about 10 mins, in which time we blasted round the local A & B roads, done a few power slides round roundabouts, a few doughnuts at road junctions, and generally had the crap scared out of me. At the end of my run I proceeded to dismount said vehicle and barfed the contents of my stomach onto the kind gentlemans driveway.
I can only imagine what effect this would have!!
Still want a go but. 8)
