Title: Partying Red Bull hands 10k bonus to all staff
Post by: John S on November 17, 2010, 08:32:53 PM

'Splash it all over', coining a Brut aftershave line, was the order of the day at Red Bull's Milton Keynes base, both for Champers and staff win bonuses. You have to feel sorry for the team members that stayed on in Abu Dhabi for the rookie tests. To the victors the spoils, oh and mines a large one - but hold the caffeine rich mixer. :D  Any out of work kitchen fitters need to head to MK pronto. ;)

Queen and Abba floated out into the Milton Keynes night from the industrial unit in which Red Bull’s 550-strong staff had gathered to celebrate the team’s victorious homecoming.

Inside the audience drank champagne and applauded as their new champion, Sebastian Vettel, and his vanquished team-mate, Mark Webber, took to the stage to the strains of We Are the Champions and The Winner Takes It All. The Australian could have been forgiven a wry smile at the latter choice of song.

The long queue of Red Bull employees snaking its way from Red Bull’s main factory in Milton Keynes to the car assembly plant opposite had good reason to be wearing huge grins. Not only had their team just won the drivers’ and constructors’ championships, but they were all pocketing win bonuses.

It is understood that Red Bull are paying each and every member of staff — roughly 550 people — £10,000 for their constructors’ victory.

Although team principal Christian Horner would not be drawn on the exact figure, he admitted it was a sizeable dent in the money the team receives from Bernie Ecclestone’s Formula One Management company.

“I had a load of texts after Brazil saying ‘Thanks for the new kitchen’,” he joked.

Didn't Massa splash out a few hundred thousand for watches for the team a few years ago?  I wonder what Vettel will do for the people that put him up there?
