Post by: Jugirl on January 16, 2012, 01:01:35 PM
I was wondering if anyone knows anything about Wisdom teeth.

All over Christmas i have had this tooth ache  :( I finally got an appointment with my dentist and she said i have a wisdom tooth coming through.  Does anyone know how long this takes to happen as it blooming hurts :(

Why the hell is it called a wisdom tooth when all it causes is grief  :'(

Had all 4 of mine removed in one shot (no need for the 'that explains it' jokes guys).  If they want to remove yours, get ready to create imaginative fondue's to eat until you can chew again.  My favourite was dipping little cubes of peanut-butter and jam sandwiches in tomatoe soup.  No chewing necessary.   ::) ::)

I though that we'd all had our wisdom teeth removed Scott. Oh dear Ju, you are gonna love it, not.

I think the name "wisdom teeth" came from the fact that they come in when we are older and, supposedly, wiser.

If they just have to pul lit the pain should go away in
a few days.I had one that was impacted and had to be
cut out. They broke it with a chisel in 3 parts, that one hurt like
hell.

Patty needs to have hers cut out. It sounds similar to Dare's case. That should be a bad week all around.

I feel for her Cos.At the time I had a shoulder operation about 2 weeks before
and had a pain pill subscription.Never took the first one for my shoulder but
used the whole bottle for my tooth.

Had mine out 1 at a time, including 1 that had to  be broken and removed piece by piece. Must have had a very good dentist because I never used a pain pill. Now Kidney stones are a different matter.

Hate to tell you Ju but my missus has had trouble on and off with wisdom teeth over the past 10+ years!

I'm 36 and still no sign of mine. Might explain a few things!

Chocolate melts in your mouth.  You don't need teeth.   :tease: :tease:

When my missus went to have her wisdom teeth out, the dentist said "Open wide," he's never been seen since.  :DD  :DD  :DD

I second that.  No point in waiting.  If it hurts, yank it!  You don't need that many teeth to chew anyhow.
