Title: Adu Dhabi GP
Post by: Scott on November 03, 2013, 05:35:54 PM
Well, after the initial disappointment of Kimi going out and Vettel taking the lead before the first corner, it was just a wee bit boring, wasn't it?  There were some midfield battles that kept the cameras off the Red Bulls of course, in fact I don't remember seeing Vettel's car after the first few laps until the last lap.

I'll only say it one more time, but if RBR want their golden boy in the spotlight aside from the podium, make him start from the back or do a horrendous pit stop using only three guys going from wheel to wheel.

Hamilton struggled, and so did Alonso until the end.  Hardly remember Button in the race.  Sutil escaped a penalty for some inexplicable reason.  Romain showed what he has again, and drove defensively as well, so much so that I don't think John should continue to refer to him as Wrecker Romain any longer.  DiResta put the Force India again where it has no right to be (thanks to a one stop strategy that worked).

What surprised some of us was that Vettel didn't pit in the last couple of laps (he had a 30sec gap after all) and go for FL as well.

But it was fun in chat, but missed a few regulars that skipped out this race (can't blame you).  Hope it will be a good turnout for the last two races.  On to Austin...

I agree about Grosjean. Over the course of the season and particularly the last few races, he has clearly come into his own and earned some respect. Kimi may have lost his motivation again, but at the moment Romain is out performing him pretty consistantly.

It was dreadful.  I'm glad I taped it, so that I could go out and do other things during the afternoon, and then have a relaxing evening before falling into bed.  I knew that it wouldn't set the heart pumping too much to watch this race before going to sleep, and I was right.
