Goes to show that us oldies, even surviving F1 legends, find it much harder to shrug off those nasty viruses.

Lauda may have some residual lung damage from his Nurburgring accident. It was reported at the time that he inhaled some fire. That would make him more vulnerable to respiratory diseases.

Even without that, I'm sure that hanging out in pitlanes and garages for his entire life isn't the best for his lungs either.
All the same, I hope his recovery is speedy and he can get back to what he loves.

My first thought was about possible lung damage from the fire, too.
