McLaren have denied rumours suggesting that Fernando Alonso is keen to get out of his 2007 contract with the Woking team.
Alonso announced at the end of last season that he'd be heading to McLaren after this year's Championship has been completed.
However, in the past few months, his Renault team have once again put him on course for Championship glory, while McLaren's attack has faltered.
This has sparked rumours that Alonso actually doesn't want to join McLaren any longer, opting instead to try and stay with Renault or even head to Ferrari.
However, according to McLaren CEO Martin Whitmarsh, the team not only has an air-tight contract with the reigning F1 Champion but he also doesn't want to break it.
"I don't think we do a shabby job with contracts generally," Whitmarsh told Autosport.
"I think we have got a reasonable contract and the rumours that I heard was that an Italian gentleman was trying to get him to consider a breach of that.
"Firstly I don't think he wants to, and two I think our contracts are usually pretty solid."
If Alonso wants to win the championship next year he has a better chance with Renault, I think he signed his new contract too early.
