Some amazing journalism.

Not a single quote except from a newspaper.

Not a single name, neither from the originating newspaper article, nor even writing credit from the 'article' at hand.

Not even an 'unnamed source' who might actually know what's going on.

'Certain conditions', assuming there is a grain of truth here, might just mean he forgot to turn in his key card.

As in the past when such discussions occurred, the issue isn't whether Bernie should go or not*, the issue is who should take over from him.  It's not like hiring a replacement for the night shift at the corner store.

The closest analogy I can think of is replacing Steve Jobs at Apple.  They got it really wrong, and Apple almost completely collapsed.

(*For the record I say Bernie should not go, but that's not my point.)

Well it would appear the Telegraph at least has changed it's stance, after getting the real lowdown straight from the horse's mouth - so to speak.  ;)

I'm sure we'll see in the coming weeks if there is a back room power play.  I wouldn't necessarily trust what Bernie says.
