Shame that. Airplane I think is hilarious, I've watched it so many times and can still see something new in it sometimes.
An aircraft landing is just a controlled crash.

Sad news, Dare. I do remember him playing Jim on Fury. I was a big fan of the original Mission Impossible.

He was also in Night of the Hunter. It's one of my favorite movies. Most people remember it for Robert Mitchum's sinister ex-con preacher, who has "LOVE" tattooed on the knuckles of one hand, and "HATE" on the other.

The movie Beginning of the End, which the obit calls Beginning of the World, is a classic, unintentionally funny, low budget monster flick. When the giant grasshoppers attack a skyscraper, they just filmed some grasshoppers on a photo of the building. One grasshopper walks out onto the "sky."  ::)
