Champions at Bahrain
« on: March 20, 2010, 04:01:29 PM »
I found this article on Pitpass and thought it was interesting.

http://www.pitpass.com/fes_php/pitpass_news_item.php?fes_art_id=40196

It raises the question of why the past champions were asked to come to Bahrain instead of Silverstone.

Bet it has to do with poilitics and how much cash the Bahrain owners have invested in F1. Bernie will never tell.

I saw some of the group photos. I wasn't surprised that Nelson Piquet was missing. I was surprised to see Todt's S.O. Michelle Yeoh in the pictures. What year did she win the WDC?

She is Todt's girlfriend and she was never a race driver. She is an actress from Malaysia (she was in one of the James Bond movie) and also a former beauty queen.

I am also surprise why she posed in the group photo for past F1 champ.  :DntKnw:

Answer:

- They had an empty spot since Piquet wasn't there.
- That one wasn't to be published, it was hers to get autographed.
- She thought they were all there to see her.
- She sat down to help Bernie pull his finger out of his eye after he was going for his nose but missed.

Where is Jean Todt's left hand? Is that why she's smiling?

And I also want to know when Jean Todt won?
I guess I missed that year.

So...if I start doing Todt I can get my picture with all the former WDC drivers?
Cool

Good answers and there is another possible answer.

She had always dream to become a WDC but since it is too late for her to start a career as a race driver, the next best thing is to pose in a group photo with all the former F1 champs and imagine herself as one of the F1 champ.
