Lewis will have to watch out for these bad boys, much worse than the Aussie police.

Excellent! But surely, this would be a breach of health & safety and human rights.  ::)

These will be installed in Tucson, as the current ones are being less effective (as money makers anyway) than expected.  >:D

Kind of reminds me what Car and Driver mag suggested what might happen if they installedspeed cameras in the US years ago.  The said likely the last picture a camera would take would be looking down the business end if a shotgun. :D

A couple have been painted out, but in one case, a guy walked up to one of the mobile radar vans, opened the door, and shot the tech to death. Another reason to do away with them.

Two towns near me recently installed the infernal devices. The citizens of both towns promptly voted to throw the cameras (and the political hacks who installed them) out.

Here in the States, every time these revenue enhancement devices have been put on the ballot, they have been thrown out by large margins.

:good: The pity is we don't get a say in Britain with the way our local & National government is organised. >:(

In Ontario, my province in Canada, one government brought in photo radar, the next government won by a landslide, and one of their main planks was getting rid of photo radar.  (That and making unemployed people work for their welfare.)

The trick is, they built a toll highway, now everyone has to pay, not just the speeders.

Here they tend to keep 'em mobile in the back of vans. Don't think they would last too long if put on the road side before they got a date with a Stihl saw.
