Massa wants fairness at Ferrari
« on: January 10, 2007, 11:54:27 PM »
MADONNA DI CAMPIGLIO: Brazilian Felipe Massa expects equal treatment with new Ferrari teammate Kimi Raikkonen this season and is confident he can improve on last season’s third place championship finish.

Massa told a news conference at the Formula One team’s winter retreat in Italy yesterday that he feels he has a new status since the retirement of seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher.

“A lot has changed since last year. I never had a competitive car and I was learning. It was normal that the team were more interested in Michael, absolutely normal,” he said.

“I am sure I have an important role in the squad. We are two young drivers and the team will be very clear with both of us – I am sure there will be equal treatment for both drivers.

“It is true that Kimi is very important for the team and there are high expectations because he has shown himself to be very fast and one of the best in F1, although he has not yet won a title,” he added. –

I really believe Massa's gonna have his hands full
this year.Kimi always has been a fast driver and the
thought of him in a fast reliable car is scarey.

I also believe Massa has more to prove than Kimi
Everyone knows how good Kimi is and Massa has
to prove he deserves his seat and the #1 status
   he wants.

Hi,Dare:
I have always rated Massa.I felt he was kept under the cosh last year, and he has a year under his belt above our friend in race conditions.
It is a big learning curve for both, but i would tip Massa to come out on top in the early stages.

I agree on Massa being held back.I wonder how many
victories Schumi would have if there wasn't team orders?
But give the devil his due, drive that many years and keep
   that amasing focus is unreal

Shumi was one of a kind, and the Team used certain situations in his favour. But by and large he was the master. His track craft was second to none,he made stupid errors which he regretted. But for me he is the best we will see for a while.
Great Drivers come and go over the years. This man has gone down in the history of the sport and will be very hard to replace whatever team you support

   Every era has their greatest,Fangio,Clark,Stewart,Senna,etc
but Schumi will never be outdone. To much focus on youth
and sponsorship now adays.Plus the main factor burning
   desire

I agree:
There is always someone who stands out from the crowd at a given time.
It happens in life in general and not just F1.
But for now Shumi is King. What will be saying in Five Years Time?
Who Knows Max and Bernie may sell it all off and retire ?
No one can predict the future Dare:If they could they would not be answering questions on a Web Site:
They would be on a Golden Beach with all the Wizards Pit Babes and a constant Revving of a V8 in the background as music
