I must be one of the minority then David because I have trouble converting back and forward, and as for converting temperatures, forget it.  :-[

Canada went metric sometime in the 70's, so I actually started school with Imperial, but finished in metric.  As a result, I am confused in both worlds.  I have no concept of how warm 80F is, while I know 23-24c is time to break out the shorts and sandals.  On the other hand, I stand 5' 10" tall, and though I know it is less than 2m, I haven't a clue what (unless I'm holding my skis - then I have a benchmark).  Volume and weight I have a pretty good grasp in both.

It continues to be split like that in Canada.  Volumes are done in litres, driving distances in kilometres, but measurements are done in feet and inches.  I know I'm 5'6", but no idea in metres.  I know my weight is... well.. lots of pounds... and I know that the number of kg is much smaller, but no idea what it is.

We get enough of the Buffalo weather forecasts that farenheit and celcius are interchangeable ;-)

I had a thermodynamics prof who took great glee in mixing measurement in exam questions. He'd give one temp in fahrenheit and another in celsius, mix meters with feet, etc. We kept waiting for a speed in furlongs per fortnight!

Can't do temperatures myself actually.  :-[

Oh, by the way, great to hear we won't be losing Monaco from the calender.  :good:

That means that, again, two of the three most classic races, the GP of Monaco & The Indy 500, will be on the same day.

I can see that must be real annoying for you Indy boys 'n gals as most of the World tunes into the Monaco race.  ;) :D :tease:

Once upon a time not too long ago a driver used to miss
Monaco to drive at Indy!Jim Clark even won one, some
say there was a scoring error and when G Hill won it should
have been Jimmy

Yeah Jimmy did miss the 65 Monaco race for the Indy 500, but then I'm sure he would consider it worth it as he won. Clark never had luck with him in Monaco and I believe he never made the full distance in any of the years he entered, it was the machinery that let him down every time of course not his skill.

Hey, now! Colin wouldn't build fragile cars, would he?  ;)

It makes me think about 61, when Moss won Monaco after the side panel fell off of his Lotus.
