Las Vegas Resort has Death Ray
« on: October 02, 2010, 04:41:37 PM »
The new Vdara Spa & Resort in Las Vegas has a slight design flaw. It's curved, mirrored glass surface focuses the sun into a beam that strikes the pool area around noon each day. The beam is intense enough to melt plastic drink cups and ignite sunbathers' hair! The owners of the hotel call it a "solar convergence". Employees call it the Death Ray.

Make of this what you will: On of its first victims was a lawyer!
