Aston Martin V-12 Vid
« on: December 23, 2010, 06:34:51 PM »
Aston Martin has put out a video, "One Engine, One Ethos." It's about how the V-12 Vantage and the LMP racer use the same engine.

I think I should do a similar flic with my MG Midget. Let's see, what else used that A-Series engine? Maybe a Morris GPO Post Office Van.

What a fine engine that is, it sounds organic rather than mechanical. I think, given the choice, I would rather have it in the DBS. Those bonnet vents on the Vantage spoil the look a wee bit IMO.

The A-Series engine is also a fine engine Cos, one that I have worked at more than any other. Amazing the things you can do to make such a simple wee engine more exciting. Mine were all in Austin Mini's.

I agree about the A Series, David. It does seem to be a game little engine with much potential. It's just a bit of a change for me. I've spent most of my life doing V8's. I have a 460 cid Ford V8 hanging on the engine stand in my garage right now. By the time it's done, it will be pushing 500 cubes.
