Ugliest Sports/Supercar
« on: January 04, 2011, 12:36:06 PM »
The thread about the Ferrari Enzo prototype started me thinking. What was the ugliest sports, performance or super car of all time. My nomination is the new Panoz Abruzzi. I've alway been a fan of Panoz. I don't know what Dan could have been thinking of with this.

First car that springs to mind is the Porsche 928.

Can't believe I'm letting my guard down but.......

Heard about a local car dealer having one for sale a while back, so I took a run up for a look. What an ugly beast, great engine but an ugly beast.

I never did like the Prowler myself.

Kimi's back! Future double WDC.

The Prowler was a good idea very badly executed. Talk about an inappropriate exhaust note! This car needed a V8 and more performance. It's a Hot Rod for heaven's sake.

I have a friend who owns a Prowler and I have to say they look
better in person than in a pic

I think the design guys got tired when they got to the rear end, but I agree with Lonny - if they had put a big howling V8 in it, the Prowler would have been the ultimate production Hot Rod.

Aside from the gull-wing doors (which are really just a novelty, but in this car's case the only solution that would allow you to close the door from a sitting position), I was never a fan of this car's lines.

Seems a bit dated now alright Scott, but in its day...Wow!!

I had a poster of one in my bedroom most of my early life.

I agree. I always prefered the more flowing Ferrari lines.

Plymouth later restyled the rear end of the Prowler and put a small block V8 in it. They called it the Prowler Howler. The original rear was supposed to look like the "turtle deck" of a Model T Ford.

At least that's what Plymouth said.
