While his management team is still firmly focused on securing his future in the pinnacle of Motorsports, former Jordan/Midland/Spyker driver, Tiago Monteiro, has accepted an invitation from Seat Sport to try out a Seat Leon from the WTCC championship at the Spanish track of Valencia.
The idea came from Paulo Ferreira (co-promoter of the WTCC race of Oporto) and Jaime Puig (Seat Sport Team Manager) and the Portuguese racer is thrilled to try new disciplines….
"As a professional driver, I am always interested in trying new cars and different factory teams competing in world championships. It’s a new experience for me, but I heard a lot of good things about the car and championship, and because I still don't have any contractual restrictions I thought it was a good timing."
Paulo Ferreira is the co-promoter of the Portuguese event of the championship and is obviously very interested in possibly having a Portuguese driver in the world championship.
