Virgin is hoping CFD 'gives them Wings'.
« on: February 25, 2011, 05:55:33 PM »

Seem it's Virgin, not Williams with single pillar, who took wrong wing route.

Virgin designer Nick Wirth is working on a new wing to help close a one second per lap deficit to nearest competitor Lotus.

That is the claim of the team’s lead driver Timo Glock, who told Germany’s Auto Motor und Sport that there is a problem at the rear of the new MVR-02 car.

"It’s on the aerodynamic side," he said when asked about the problem. "We believe we have found it. Now we have to make sure we can resolve it."

Glock, who turns 29 next month, has said Virgin has taken a big step forward compared to a year ago with regards to the new car’s reliability.

But he admitted: "The gap to Lotus is already pretty big. On Sunday (at Barcelona) they were a second ahead of us. We know we have a problem and we need to solve it.

"So we just need Nick Wirth to build some new wings and we can move forwards," he added.

Thats the problem with Virgin, a real lack of experience.

Thats the problem with Virgin, a real lack of experience.

Explains why, having found a gap, they are having difficulty knowing what to do with it.  :o
