Another over-the-top police action on an 8-year-old
« on: April 06, 2011, 05:09:30 PM »
Every month or so you come across stories like this:

http://ca.news.yahoo.com/8-old-pepper-sprayed-police-us-primary-school-20110406-042950-457.html

To which makes me think...the kid didn't have a gun, or a bomb, or a lethal contagion...HE HAD A SHARP STICK!!!!! Seriously...is there ANYONE here that doesn't think that you personally, or for that matter with the help of ONE OTHER PERSON couldn't take this kid out without resorting to pepper spray?  :o

HE'S 8 YEARS OLD!!!!!!! LOLOLOLOL

I dunno, the whole world's going to hell in a handbasket if you ask me...or the cops looked like this:

So, it's legal to pepper spray the kid, but illegal to paddle him? Incredible!

I think there must be a bit more to this, how come police were called to an elementary school? Where were the teachers and what caused them to call in the cops?

I think when you call in the cops it's probably inevitable that this sort of thing results. By the very fact the cops have to be called in seems to suggest that the situation had got out of control for the adults in charge of the school.

It's certainly tough to judge without knowing all the facts.

When I was a wee lass I helped out in some of the classrooms for kids who had 'developmental problems'.  I was amazed at how strong they are.  Some can get access to that 'super human adrenalin strength' much easier than we do.  An 8 year old genuinely freaking out could be stronger than a full grown man, especially a man reluctant to use force on a small boy.

On the plus side of all this... if this boy was in the unfortunate situation where there is no 'protocol', it means it's a very rare situation.

Read this story of a event that happened on 2000.In these crazy
times saying he's only 8 years old doesn't cut it any longer.

The Waco Kid from Mel Brooks' hilarious "Blazing Saddles":

Jim: Well, it got so that every p*ss-ant prairie punk who thought he could shoot a gun would ride into town to try out the Waco Kid. I must have killed more men than Cecil B. DeMille. It got pretty gritty. I started to hear the word "draw" in my sleep. Then one day, I was just walking down the street when I heard a voice behind me say, "Reach for it, mister!" I spun around... and there I was, face-to-face with a six-year old kid. Well, I just threw my guns down and walked away. Little bastard shot me in the ass. So I limped to the nearest saloon, crawled inside a whiskey bottle, and I've been there ever since

A kernal of truth in the humor.
