No Flappy Rear Wing at Monaco?

It seems this maybe a possibility on safety grounds.

When you think about it, where would they use it? None of the straights are very straight or very long.

Through the tunnel probably.

On a saftey ground its a good idea. The race is going to be crazy enough as is, Id love to see what DRS would do!

My thoughts exactly, the DRS would be awesome through the tunnel. Probably not the safest all the same. If there is no DRS they need to give them 50% more KERS time to make up IMO.

Would you really want to reduce your down force in a high speed turn? MS crashed here just by losing the front.

As an experiment in this DRS/KERS age I would like to see them eliminate the Nouvell Chicane at the end of the tunnel straight. That would give them a straight run all the way to Tabac and make for one hell of a race.

I know even talking about eliminating the Nouvell Chicane will be considered heresy to some but there would still be the rest of Monaco for the parade. Think about it, pretty much all the heritage of Monaco with a straight all the way from Portier to Tabac.

I was wondering how they could possibly make the flappy wing work at Monaco, - 'simples' you can't.
The right call I think not to use it.

Hope they don't...that's the grandstand I want to book if I ever make it to Monaco.  They'd have to remove it if they lose that chicane.

Isn't that the chicane Bandini crashed at?The opening was way
to narrow for the speed of the cars.

It isn't as thought the course hasn't been majorly changed over the years. The section between Tabac and the current start-finish line is very different than it was in the early 60's.

Rear wings will be flapping in Monaco or so the FIA have told the teams.
I think we shall have to wait and see as I cannot see anywhere it will be able to be used.
