NASCAR "Park Ferme" Follies
« on: May 10, 2011, 01:40:47 PM »
This is the NASCAR version of Park Ferme: Wait until the other driver gets out of his car, then shove it into the pit wall.

Before this clip starts, Harvick and Busch circled each other several on the front stretch. In case you're wondering who the guy is in that #78 car the occasionally show a glimpse of, that's Regan Smith. He's the guy who actually won the race.

So no penalty of any kind??  Nasty boys those - wonder how Kimi will fair (mind you, it's perfect for Montoya - he's got that attitude that fits right in).

I watched the complete race as Darlington always offers something in the form of entertainment.

If you ask me that was a chicken-sh*t move by Busch. He sat in his car behind Harvick's car I guess maybe to try to intimidate Harvick? So Harvick called him out by getting out of the car and rather than man up Busch pulls that little stunt then runs away like a baby. Damn, if I was the Nascar chief I woulda penalized Busch for being such a little b*tch!

What was your opinion of the whole affair Cos?

Not to mention the danger to the people standing around (which there were quite a few) and the extra damage to Harvick's car.  The track incident sure looked intentional.  If it were up to me, I'd throw the two of them in the penalty box for at least a couple of races.

Plenty of blame to go around. Harvick dove into the pit lane to get ahead of Busch, cutting off another car. He then stopped dead in the middle of the pit lane, right ahead of Busch. By the way Harvick started to get out, stopped, then took the wheel back off and jumped out, I'd guess that Busch was sending a few "hand signals." When Harvick got out to attack Busch, ol' Kyle remembered a wise, old saying: It's a p!ss poor pair of feet that will just stand there when you're going to get an @ss whippin'!

NASCAR doesn't want to clean up the fighting all that much. Fighting is part of what it's about on American circle tracks, from dirt bull rings to Daytona.

I can see how that stance can improve the gate receipt, just hope it doesn't blow up in their face with injuries to anyone - particularly spectators.

The "New" NASCAR does not approve of these kind of incidents, and summoned both boys to the woodshed (NASCAR official trailer). I suspect penalties will be announced. Kyle has a reputation as a do anything to win driver and enjoys his role as on track villain.

Harvick and Busch each got a $25,000 fine and a 4 race probation.

BWAAAH!  Probation!  What a joke.  Oh well, that's why they say NASCAR is the WWF of motorsport.

I think someone was watching Luca Badoer's blunder at Valencia (when he crashed into Adrian Sutil's car in park fermé by accident) and decided to make him a role model...

Sutil returned the favor making a NASCAR move in the bar at China a few weeks ago.  ;)

How is that returning the favour? As far as I'm aware, Luca wasn't there...

Maybe, by that point in the evening, Sutil thought that Badoer was there!
