Ferrari Engine Doesn't Fit in New Toro Rosso F1 Car ?
« on: January 29, 2007, 04:24:41 PM »
Toro Rosso's car for 2007 will not be up and running until mid to late February, it has emerged.

Despite speculation that the Ferrari-powered machine is similar to the new Red Bull that has now been revealed, it is understood that the 'STR2' is facing production delays that have pushed back the launch date for at least two or so more weeks.

It was speculated recently that installation of the Ferrari engine might be proving difficult for Toro Rosso, as the dimensions and mounting points of the Renault unit - used as the basis for Adrian Newey's 'RB3' design - are significantly different.

The Faenza based squad is also lagging on the confirmation of its driver lineup for this year, but an announcement is expected later this week.

I have got a few really strong elastic bands if they will help?

I have a extra measuring tape they
   can have,provided they pay shipping
   and handling charges

They now make duct tape in 8 1/2 X 11 inch sheets. They can use it to mount the engine AND diguise the RBR bodywork. :secret:

I'll bet Williams and Spyker will be pleased to
learn the reason the Ferr. engine wouldn't fit is
because the car was designed for a Ren. engine

Thanks chaps,i think all ideas will be welcome to them at the moment!
New engine mounts might not be the only problem they come across.

Just give the car to a copier tech, we can modify almost anything to work.  When we are done you'll never know what we did, but you can certainly notice it, however it will work........Just a word of warning, don't try to work it out, coz it'll fall apart.
