Renault appoints new race engineers
« on: January 29, 2007, 09:12:16 PM »
Enstone based Renault has appointed a new lineup of race engineers for the 2007 season, we have learned.

The redefinition of Pat Symonds' role at the French squad resulted in the promotion of Alan Permane, who in 2005 and 2006 was the chief engineer for Giancarlo Fisichella's car.

World champion Fernando Alonso's former engineer Rod Nelson, meanwhile, has joined Williams.

It has emerged that Fisichella's new engineer is David Greenwood, while Alonso's successor Heikki Kovalainen will be looked after by Adam Carter.

They are both British.

"(This) is further proof that we are embracing change to ensure a successful future for the team," Symonds said.

The Stig
